SKIING & SNOWBOARDING

Fun in the Drakensberg snow at Tiffindell Ski Resort

OUR GUESTS SAY:

"As skiing novices we couldn't have hoped for a more supportive, welcoming and friendly base. The cosy beds, fabulous company and unbelievable food were all we needed to make for a perfect holiday."

Tiffindell Resort

Wild Mountain Adventures is situated in the valleys below the famous Tiffindell Ski Resort - the only one of its kind in South Africa. We can help you get the most from your skiing holiday by offering excellent value valley accommodation and a range of complimentary activities.

Skiing at Tiffindell

Tiffindell's pioneering efforts in 1993 led to the ski resort being established on the slopes of the highest mountain on the Cape - Ben McDhui, at 3,001m). The resort is constantly expanding and is a popular winter holiday venue. The carefully selected position of the resort, on the south facing slope, ensures that the snow lasts, extending the time available for snow skiing. Slopes cleared and groomed during summer quickly transform to ski runs after even the lightest of snowfalls.

 Snowboarding Tiffindell

A shuttle is available from the nearby Bidstone Base Station but needs to be pre-booked. The ski pass includes ski/snowboard equipment hire. Ski jackets and pants can also be hired from Tiffindell for a small fee. Please note that Tiffindell insist on compulsory beginner lessons for all first time skiers or snowboarders. Lessons begin at 9.00am.

 Tiffindell Bar

Tiffindell's legendary bar gives people the challenge of drinking shooters upside down via a set of skis bolted to the ceiling. The brave can become members of the Polar Bear club by jumping into a swimming pool (but you have to break the ice on the surface first!). Or you could just have a quiet drink and watch everyone else do the crazy stuff!

 Hiking trail Rhodes

If you are planning a 3 day skiing holiday then why not make a week of it by combining your skiing with other activities.  We can create your own multi-activity holiday by adding hiking, mountain biking, horse riding and 4x4 trails. Those that have their own vehicles can enjoy professionally guided quad and motorbike tours.
