If hiking up the peaks sounds like too much hard work, then why not hoof it up the mountain? Our wonderful horses will do all the hard work for you, leaving you to enjoy the ride and admire the spectacular views.

 

Rides are available to suit your needs, ranging from short day rides to a multi-day trek  staying at different farms each night. We provide mountain-bred horses who are used to the terrain and have suitable mounts for all levels of rider including beginners. All horse trails are accompanied by qualified, experienced guides.

DAY RIDES:

Rides of 3-5 hours can be arranged for visitors staying in the Eastern Cape Drakensberg at a rate of R100 per hour. Day rides take place in the stunningly beautiful Wartrail district which boasts some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the whole region.

 

To avoid disappointment we recommend that trails are pre-booked before your arrival in the area. A typical day ride would include:

  • Meeting your horse, selected according to your experience and preferences
  • Riding along the valley roads with stunning views of the mountains
  • Climbing rugged mountain slopes, crossing small streams and gullies
  • Experienced riders will have the opportunity to enjoy canters on the flatter terrain
  • A picnic lunch will be provided on longer rides.

MULTI-DAY RIDES:

Fabulous overnight and multi-day rides are available throughout the year and for all levels of rider. Depending on the season, we can offer the following options:
