DAY 2
After breakfast, our horse trail will continue from Burnbrae onto Balloch Farm. We ride a beautiful route under the awe-inspiring peak of Glengyle mountain. This gently climbing jeep track is an ideal spot for more experienced riders to let their horses stretch out into a long canter. We arrive into the Balloch valley alongside a beautifully clear mountain stream - a great opportunity for the horses to quench their thirst and the riders to have a refreshing dip in summer. Balloch is a stunningly beautiful valley and has been declared a Natural Heritage Site for its stunning sandstone formations and well-preserved San rock art sites. We overnight in well-appointed cottages at Balloch where dinner will be served.

OUR HORSES
The horses that we use for trails are mainly mixed breed, combining Arab, Boerperd and Basotho lines to produce a tough and hardy type that handles our terrain and climate well. Our horses are also used for checking stock and their varied lifestyle means that they are well-schooled, willing trail horses, happy in their work. All were born in this area meaning that they know the terrain like the back of their hoof! We pride ourselves in owning well-cared for horses.
